An unprecedented 57 percent of Americans are now in support of cannabis legalization, according to a Pew survey released on October 12.
The results come one month away from the presidential election, during which five states will vote on cannabis legalization initiatives: Maine, Massachusetts, Arizona, Nevada, and the nation’s most populous, California. Polls in each of those states have shown majority support for the initiatives, but California’s appears to be particularly poised to pass.
The latest Gallup poll shows support at 58 percent.
